About K66

I suppose that most of my friends that visit this web site wonder where the k66 name came from.  I have been a FCC licensed amateur radio operator for about 34 years.  My original callsign was WB7UGZ, which I obtained while living and working in and around Fallon, Nevada.  I was stationed in Fallon with the U.S. Air Force.

I left Nevada and went overseas to Athens, Greece.  While in Greece, I obtained a Greek callsign, SV0AM.  When I left Greece in 1981, I came to California.  I operated for a couple of years as WB7UGZ in Winton, CA.

In 1983, I was sent to Thule Greenland.  While at Thule, I obtained a Greenlandic callsign, OX5RM.  I was operating radio from the top of the world. Operating conditions up there were fantastic, absolutely no man made static at all.
